The foundation for DERMANS
DERMANS was created to give men the opportunity to discover products and routines that make a real difference in their daily lives.
Our starting point has never been to reinvent skincare. It has been to simplify it without compromising on effectiveness or identity.
We were tired of solutions that were either geared towards women, overly perfumed and chemically-laden, or so clinical that they felt alien. We missed something in between. Products that you want to use because they work, and because they naturally fit into your day.
All our formulas are developed in the EU with a focus on pure and well-documented ingredients. Not to promise miracles from day one, but to create stable results over time. The kind you notice every time you look in the mirror, without even thinking about it.
For us, skincare and self-care aren't about vanity. It's about peace and structure.
About the small routines that strengthen both the skin and the mind.
My skincare journey began in 2018.
In our culture, it is customary to have your hair washed and face cleaned after a haircut.
Like many young guys with lots of pores and impure skin, I had never understood what it meant to do a deep cleanse of the face.
In the hairdresser's chair, I received a treatment that changed my perspective on what was possible. When I got up from the chair, my face was smooth and renewed - like I had never experienced it before.
I took a picture of the product he had used and asked where I could buy it. He told me it could be found somewhere in the big bazaar.
On my last day in Gondar – with gifts to buy and errands to run – I was determined to find the product that had impressed me and my skin. Together with my cousin, we therefore went through the bazaar, showing pictures and going from stall to stall.
When we finally found it, it was more expensive than the money I had left. After some back-and-forth negotiation, and a good talk with the owner, I got my product home with me.
That product lasted a long time. And it served me well.
Since then, I've experimented with all sorts of creams, masks, and whatever else is out there. But I never quite found the right one for me.
Something I could identify with, and which piqued my curiosity.
Something that felt like it was meant for someone like me.
